Warm greetings beloved visitors.
I am Ankunda Promise, a student studying procurement and supply chain management. I am one of the children at the Bwindi Children Skills Centre who has been given the opportunity to get an education. As one of the oldest children in the centre, I normally help train music, dance and drama for the children during my holidays. The children also do for example, wood carving and they weave baskets. They make paper beads for necklaces from old magazines and newspapers that come from the community. This work is normally done when all the children have holiday. So during the last holiday time at Easter, they managed to improve their dancing skills, learned a new song and the boys made some gorilla masks to replenish in the craft shop. It is always a wonderful time where the children get to know each other well and it creates togetherness as one family.
Preserving nature and creating new things is the passion of the children during this holiday. The Bwindi Children Skills Centre has improved children’s confidence to lead, build their personality and reach certain heights in their lives. It is a home for them that puts a smile on the Bwindi children, but also on orphans and vulnerable children who had no support. We thank the ambassadors and sponsors of the Bwindi Children Skills Centre for bringing light into our lives.
