Sometimes when tourists visit our child centre they give presents to the children. We had American visitors and they gave a very nice present. They took the children for a tour to the waterfalls in the forest. This was the first time for them to visit the waterfalls. The children went in the forest with a female guide called Apophia. She guided them from the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park visitors center to the waterfall where she taught them several things about the forest. She also taught them gorilla behavior, what gorillas eat and what they don’t eat. The children thought they eat meat, but they eat mainly leaves, herbs, roots and fruits. The guide explained to the children also different types of trees and it’s names. She took them to the waterfall, which later becomes the river Munyage which flows past Buhoma.
When the children reached the waterfall they wanted to swim. The guide allowed them to swim and the children were so much happy and they had a very good time in the water.
